VLOG #102: What You Should Know About the Rise in Wire Fraud

By Robert Altshuler, Esq. Founder | Managing Partner | Realtor®

Robert addresses critical points you should be aware of regarding wire fraud in Arizona’s hot housing market…

Unfortunately, wire fraud is on the rise again, with the emphasis on the hot housing market in the media. It’s no surprise that fraudsters have decided to go after real estate transactions. Additionally, with the large influx of inexperienced agents coming into the market and some experienced agents as well who are not careful with the security of their social media accounts…it is easier for these identity thieves to access email accounts and intercept wire instructions.

Bottom line: You need to make sure that all wire transfers are verified on the phone with escrow prior to sending any funds.
